KARLIE HAY REPRESENTING KEMAH WINS
MISS TEXAS TEEN USA® PAGEANT!

 

The 2016 MISS TEXAS TEEN USA® pageant was held on Sunday afternoon, November 29th, at the Hilton Houston Post Oak Hotel. Eighty-Two contestants from across Texas competed for a prize package that includes a four year college scholarship, jewelry, travel, wardrobe, and the honor of representing Texas next year in the premier national pageant for teenagers, MISS TEEN USA®.

 

The newly crowned Miss Texas Teen USA is seventeen year-old, blue-eyed, blonde, Karlie Hay, who was also selected as the Swimsuit Award Winner. Karlie represented Kemah, and is a senior at Tomball High School and is the Varsity Cheerleader Captain. She also is the sports editor and photographer for her school's yearbook. She was voted "best dressed" her junior year of high school and has been recognized for her academic excellence. She strives to make others laugh and feel good about themselves and has won two Miss Congeniality awards in previous pageants. Outside of school Karlie volunteers annually at the Star of Hope Emergency Facility and local community events. She enjoys maintaining a fit and healthy lifestyle by working out, and spends most of her free time with her friends and family.   She currently has a 3.7 GPA and keeps herself busy by being on the Honor Roll. Karlie hopes to attend Texas A&M University and get her degree in Communications.  She has an older brother, Lance Corporal Joshua Hay in the United States Marine Corps, who was able to surprise Karlie with his attendance!

First runner-up is Miss La Grange Texas Teen USA, Thekla McCarty, second runner-up is Miss Rio Grande Valley Teen USA, Victoria Hinojosa, third runner-up is Miss Houston Teen USA, Livia Lavender, and fourth runner-up is Miss Lone Star Teen USA, Mary Frances Nance.

 

Semifinalists are Miss Austin Teen USA- Allison Eklund, Miss Bay Area Teen USA- Kirby Lindley, Miss Capital City Teen USA- Aubrey Roberts, Miss Capital of Texas Teen USA- Julia Zavodny, Miss El Paso Teen USA- Stephanie Dominguez, Miss Fort Worth Teen USA- Brenna Flynn, Miss Hidalgo County Teen USA- Kelsey Medina, Miss Lakewood Teen USA- Catherine Ellis, Miss Laredo Teen USA- Elba Mendoza, Miss North Dallas Teen USA- Madison Hildreth, Miss Southlake Teen USA- Jessica Bowman, Miss Victoria Teen USA- McKenna Greene who also won the Miss Congeniality Award.

 

Miss Photogenic Award went to Miss Dallas Teen USA Emily Lites.

Albert Soliz and Miss Texas USA 2016, Daniella Rodriguez, hosted the show.  Miss Texas Teen USA 2015, Chloe Kembel was a special guest.

CHLOE KEMBEL REPRESENTING NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS WINS MISS TEXAS TEEN USA® PAGEANT!

The 2015 MISS TEXAS TEEN USA® pageant was held on Sunday afternoon, November 30th, at the Hilton Houston Post Oak Hotel.  Ninety-Three contestants from across Texas competed for a prize package that includes a four year college scholarship, jewelry, travel, wardrobe, and the honor of representing Texas next year in the premier national pageant for teenagers, MISS TEEN USA®.

 

The newly crowned Miss Texas Teen USA is eighteen year-old, green-eyed, brunette, Chloe Kembel, who was also selected as Most Photogenic. Chloe represented North Central Texas, and is a senior at Liberty Christian School.  She currently has  a 3.5 GPA and keeps herself busy with participating on the dance team and being involved numerous clubs and associations at school. Chloe hopes to attend Texas A&M University and get her degree in Broadcast Journalism. Upon graduation she would like to become an international field journalist covering stories across the globe. She says the opportunities she has had traveling on mission trips to Uganda, Guatemala, and El Salvador have opened her eyes to appreciate the different cultures, lifestyles, and languages. Chloe is the daughter of Keri and Robert Kembel of Arlington, Texas.  She has two older brothers, Cole 23 and Will 19. This was Chloe’s first time in competing in a pageant...ever!

 

First runner-up is Miss Capital of Texas Teen USA, Allison Higginbotham, second runner-up is Miss Rio Grande Valley Teen USA, Cary Villarreal (who also tied for the Swimsuit award), third runner-up is Miss San Antonio Teen USA, Lanie McAlpin (who also tied for the Swimsuit award); and fourth runner-up is Miss Dallas Teen USA, Brenna Flynn.

 

Semifinalists are Miss Brazos Bend Teen USA, Dasha Brotherton; Miss Brazos County Teen USA, Ashley Harris; Miss Central Texas Teen USA, Danielle Foreman; Miss El Paso Teen USA, Tulasi Gopalan; Miss Fort Bend County Teen USA, Taylor Kessler; Miss Frisco Teen USA, Taylor Houston; Miss Harris County Teen USA, Mary Frances Nance; Miss Holman Valley Teen USA, Thekla McCarty; Miss Kemah Teen USA, Livia Lavender; Miss McAllen Teen USA, Victoria Hinojosa; Miss South Texas Teen USA, Yvonne Zerda; Miss Tomball Teen USA, Karlie Hay; and Miss Woodlands Teen USA, Sheridan Donevant. The Miss Congeniality Award went to Miss Nassau Bay Teen USA, Chandler Moire Foreman.
