In September 2010, approximately 100 outstanding young Texas women will travel to Houston, Texas to compete for the coveted title of Miss Texas USA 2011.  The prestigious Miss Texas USA pageant will take place at 3:00pm on Sunday September 5th 2010 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Reliant Park located in Houston, Texas.

 

The Preliminary Show and Competition will be held the prior evening Saturday night September 4th at 7:30pm. The Swimsuit and Photogenic award winners will be announced during the preliminary show.

 

Hosting the show will be Emmy Award nominee, Jason Feinberg, previously of E! Entertainment and Texas’ own Miss USA 2008, Crystle Stewart.

 

Kelsey Moore Miss Texas USA 2010 will crown the new winner, and the contestant that receives the most votes for the Peoples Choice Award will be announced.

The 2011 Miss Texas USA winner will receive a prize and gift package of cash, gold and diamond jewelry, travel, wardrobe, and much more.

 

The next Miss Texas USA will represent the state in the nationally televised, MISS USA pageant in the spring of 2011.  MISS USA then goes on to the ultimate of pageants, Miss Universe.

 

Tickets for the Swimsuit & Evening Gown Competition on Saturday, September 4th; and Final Live show on September 5th will go on sale July 26, 2010

Miss El Paso USA, Kelsey Moore
Wins the MISS TEXAS USA® Crown

Houston, TX, September 6, 2009Kelsey Moore was crowned MISS TEXAS USA 2010 on Sunday, September 6, in a competition featuring 107 contestants from throughout Texas.  Representing El Paso in the pageant, she was also named Swimsuit Winner. The 19-year-old blue-eyed blonde is a Student Athlete at the Division 1 Level, attending the University of Texas at El Paso on a full ride scholarship to play volleyball.  She is majoring in Electronic Media and plans to become a political newscaster after playing professional volleyball for a couple of years.  Miss Moore has a special interest in encouraging the next generation to set goals, stay true to their personal values, and take an active interest in the politics that run this country.


In addition to representing the Lone Star State in the MISS USA® pageant on April 18th at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, Miss Moore wins a prize package valued at approximately $70,000 and includes scholarships, travel, clothing, jewelry and much more.  Hosting the show were Jason Feinberg and Miss USA 2008, Crystle Stewart. 

Miss Central Texas, Ana Rodriguez, was named first runner-up.  Miss Houston, Angy Torres; Miss Capital of Texas, Megan McAnelly; and Miss Gulf Coast, Taylor Britton, were selected as second through fourth runners-up, respectively.

 

The other contestants named to the top seventeen earlier in Sunday evening’s competition were Miss Bayou City, Kallye Mitchell; Miss Brownsville, Emeraude Toubia; Miss Centralplex, Shannon McNamara; Miss Dallas, Brittany Tiner; Miss DFW, Christina Campfield; Miss Harris County, Lauren Sapaugh; Miss Lubbock, Stephanie Kelly; Miss North Arlington, Whitney Jarrett; Miss Park Cities, Sarah Boehner; Miss San Antonio, Frenchellen Gilliam; Miss Southlake, Ashley Smith; and Miss State Capital, Tahnae Tarkenton.

 

Megan McAnelly, Miss Captial of Texas and Mandy Grisham, Miss Whitney Lake tied for the title of Miss Congeniality.   Ashley Smith, Miss Southlake, was chosen as Most Photogenic.

 

The winner of the People’s Choice Award was semifinalist, Brittany Tiner, Miss Dallas. A total of $15,000 was raised by donating one dollar for each vote. All proceeds benefitted the Military Moms and Wives of Brazoria County, a non-profit organization that sends “care packages” to our American heroes deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
