Wins the MISS TEXAS USA® Crown
Houston, TX, September 6, 2015 – Daniella Rodriguez was crowned MISS TEXAS USA® 2016 on Sunday, September 6th, in a competition featuring 101 contestants from throughout Texas. Hailing from Laredo and representing Central Webb County in the pageant, the19-year-old, 5’9” golden brunette beauty who was also Miss Texas Teen USA 2013 titleholder is currently a sophomore at Texas A&M International University in Laredo, Texas, where she is working on her bachelor’s in Early Childhood Development and her major is in School Counseling.
In addition to representing the Great State of Texas in the 2016 MISS USA® pageant, Miss Rodriguez wins a prize package valued at approximately $100,000 and includes scholarships, travel, clothing, jewelry and much more. Hosting the show were newlyweds Miss USA 2008, Crystle Stewart, and international model, Max Sebrechts.
Miss Kemah, Ligia De Uriarte, was named first runner-up, and the Miss Photogenic winner. Miss South West Texas, Barbara Falcon; Miss South Texas, Vanessa Garza; and Miss Houston, Thamer Favor; were selected as second through fourth runners-up, respectively.
The other contestants named to the top seventeen earlier in Sunday’s competition were Miss Abilene, McKynna Cocoanougher; Miss Austin, Allison Drake; Miss Bay Area, Logan Lester; Miss Dallas, Katie Sicula; Miss Energy Corridor, Samaria Mouton; Miss Falcon Lake, Chelsea Pena; Miss Gulf Coast, Nancy Gonzalez; Miss Lone Star, Brianna Webb; Miss Midtown, Hannah Johannes; Miss State Capital, Ciara Jasso; Miss Tropics of Texas, Alejandra Gonzalez; Miss Victoria, Avery Greene.
Miss Prairie View Tobbi Gibbons won the title of “Miss Congeniality”. Barbara Falcon, Miss South West Texas, was chosen as the “Swimsuit Winner” and the "People's Choice" winner was Samaria Mouton, Miss Energy Corridor.
